Terms of Service
Last updated: October 13, 2026
Acceptance
By using SoundCatch, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
What SoundCatch does
SoundCatch is a web app and Chrome extension that identifies music. It captures a short audio sample via your microphone or browser tab, sends it to a recognition service, and returns the song information.
Accounts and payments
The free tier lets you try SoundCatch with 3 found songs. SoundCatch Pro is a subscription that gives unlimited song identification, subject to fair use. It is billed monthly ($3.99) or yearly ($19.99), or the local equivalent shown at checkout, and renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
You can cancel anytime using Manage subscription on soundcatch.app or by emailing hello@soundcatch.app. After cancelling, Pro stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, and you will not be charged again. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Apart from the 7-day promise below, payments are non-refundable for partial periods, except where required by law.
7-day money-back promise. If you are not happy with SoundCatch Pro, email hello@soundcatch.app within 7 days of your first payment for a plan and we will refund it in full, no questions asked. Refunds go back to the original payment method, usually within 5–10 business days. This does not affect any statutory rights you have as a consumer.
Customers who bought the earlier one-time lifetime Pro keep their lifetime access.
Acceptable use
You agree not to reverse-engineer the app or extension, use it for automated or bulk song recognition, or resell access to the service. SoundCatch is for personal, non-commercial use.
Intellectual property
SoundCatch identifies songs but does not provide access to copyrighted music. Song metadata and streaming links are provided for informational purposes. All rights to the music belong to their respective owners.
Availability
We aim to keep SoundCatch running reliably but don't guarantee 100% uptime. Recognition accuracy depends on audio quality and the scope of the music database. We're not liable for failed identifications.
Limitation of liability
SoundCatch is provided "as is." We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service.
Changes
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.
